Kristianto Purnomo is a senior photographer for Kompas.com. Using his camera, he has captured various important social issues. In one of his most impactful pieces of work, he captured a group of students in Banten, Indonesia, who had to cross a river using only a steel wire. The work received a prestigious journalism award in Indonesia, the Mochtar Lubis Award, as well as triggered a social movement called #jembatananakbangsa, which means "bridges for our children". He also has experience in developing digital visual content, such as 360 photos.
