Kristian Ogungbemi

Kristian Ogungbemi is currently the lead teacher for the Global Leadership Program at Kensington Health Sciences Academy in Philadelphia, PA. Global Leadership is a three year major that focuses on sociology, government, and self-advocacy.
She uses her background in communications and local politics to inform an engaging and timely curriculum that asks students to investigate issues like language around riots, Puerto Rican statehood, and the school-to-prison pipeline. She most recently participated in the NEH Civil Rights Movement: Grass Roots Perspectives Summer Institute and wrote a unit entitled How Language Becomes Law for the Pulitzer Center’s 1619 Project Education Network.
