Katharina Nickoleit

Katharina Nickoleit, born 1974, is a freelance journalist who works for WDR, Deutschlandradio, and ARD. She covers climate, biodiversity, nutrition, and health in the Global South. She also focuses on the intersection between the environment and the economy in Germany.
Nickoleit has received several media awards and research grants for her work. Most recently, she was awarded the Fraunhofer Institute's UMSICHT Media Prize in 2024 for her feature “Surviving in the Hot Age.”
