John Fitzgerald is an independent film director, cinematographer, and animator whose films have screened at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival, Berlinale Talents, and the Rotterdam International Film Festival. He has created dynamic multi-channel video mapping installations for the Panama Biennial and theater performances in Brazil and the United States. His photographs and video art have been shown in a range of group and solo exhibitions in the U.S., Bolivia, Italy, Panama, Spain, Argentina, and Brazil.
John has directed and produced projects for The World Wildlife Fund, Coca Cola’s Burn Energy Drink, Heineken, The Discovery Channel, Tribeca Films, NOVA/PBS, Nowness, FIFA Street, Red Bull and Sony Records. He graduated from Brown University, Department of Modern Culture and Media, with an Honors Thesis, and Resource Scholars + Artists Award. John is currently a visiting scholar at the MIT Center for Advanced Urbanism.
