Jason Dearen

Jason Dearen is a reporter and writer whose nonfiction narrative book Kill Shot (2021) received starred reviews from Kirkus and Library Journal. The book was released in paperback on Feb. 22, 2022, by Avery Books, an imprint of Penguin-Random House.
Dearen was also a 2018-2019 Knight Science Journalism fellow at MIT, and is currently on the national investigative team at The Associated Press. His work has appeared in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and websites, including The Washington Post, The Guardian, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, The Seattle Times, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune, and The New York Times.
