Janae Sargent

Janae Sargent is a sexual violence prevention practitioner and educator with ValorUS, a national nonprofit committed to advancing equity and ending sexual violence. She hosts and produces PreventConnect, a national podcast and online community dedicated to advancing health equity in the anti-sexual violence and public health fields.
Sargent works to integrate anti-oppression and reproductive justice into the movement to end gender- and power-based violence. Before coming to ValorUS, she was a prevention education manager for Lumina Alliance, working to increase organizational capacity to serve and uplift LGBTQ+, youth, and BIPOC voices through training, advocacy, and organizational policy.
She has also worked as a print and broadcast journalist.
