Hanna Webster

Hanna Webster is an award-winning health reporter at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Starting as the only health reporter in the newsroom in 2022, Webster has covered breaking news and health trends during the tail end of the pandemic, including coverage of long COVID and health disparities. She has broken stories on novel substances in the illicit drug supply and has been honored for her coverage on the opioid crisis, the reproductive landscape following the repeal of Roe v. Wade, and her coverage of the 2023 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Webster was named the Lenfest Institute Emerging Journalist of Pennsylvania in 2024.

Webster's reporting has garnered additional awards with the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association, Society for Features Journalism, and the Society of Professional Journalists.

She holds a master’s degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s in neuroscience and writing from Western Washington University.
