Guy Peterson

Guy Peterson is a Dakar based photojournalist represented by Panos Pictures covering West and Central Africa with a focus on humanitarian crisis, health, natural history, and conflict.
He works regularly for international publications including The Washington Post, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, De Volkskrant, NPR, AFP and The Financial Times as well a a number of NGO’s in eluding action Against Hunger, Mercy Corps, MAG and UNICEF.
Peterson’s impactful work on human rights abuses in Guinea-Bissau’s drug rehabilitation centers was recently nominated for the Amnesty Human Rights Media Awards in 2024. As part of an investigation into the supply chain of super market salmon in the UK with a team from the Financial Times, Peterson’s work was also given an honorable mention in the Kevin Carmody Award for outstanding investigative reporting at the Society of Environmental Journalists annual awards.
