Frank Carlson

Frank Carlson is an Emmy-winning general assignment producer, videographer and editor at the PBS NewsHour. At the NewsHour he's covered everything from high-end art facsimiles in Spain to illegal gold mining in the Philippines to the opioid crisis at home, crafting in-depth field reports that explore the complexity and nuance of an issue through compelling voices.
Before joining the NewsHour staff in 2010, he earned a graduate degree at Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, and before that taught American Literature in Beijing. He's from Tennessee and now lives in Washington, D.C.
