Francisco Toro

Francisco Toro is a Venezuelan-Canadian journalist, writer and development specialist.

In 2002, he founded Caracas Chronicles, which went on to become the top blog for Venezuela-related news and commentary throughout the Chávez Era.

Since 2012, he has concentrated on development issues in East Africa, in particular on food and agriculture issues. He has also consulted for development projects in South Sudan and Chad and covered refugee nutrition issues throughout the region, though seed counterfeiting is his personal obsession.
