Flávia Milhorance

2026 RAINFOREST INVESTIGATIONS FELLOW (BRAZIL)

Flávia Milhorance has built her career at the intersection of politics, economics, and the environment, with accountability and human rights as her compass.

As a stringer for The New York Times, she has covered beats that range from politics to the environment, and her work has also appeared in The Guardian, TIME magazine, Corporate Knights, and National Geographic, among others.

Alongside her reporting, she worked for over five years as the Brazil editor at Dialogue Earth, an independent publication focused on environment and foreign policy. She also coordinated Every Last Drop at InfoAmazonia, an investigative series on oil exploration across five Amazonian countries, an experience that grounds her current investigation into the equatorial margin’s new oil frontier.

She holds a master’s degree in journalism, media, and globalization, with a specialization in financial journalism, from Aarhus University (Denmark) and City University London (UK).
