Evelyn Kpadeh Seagbeh

Evelyn Kpadeh Seagbeh is a Liberian journalist with over 11 years of experience in reporting. A winner of four journalism awards, she is passionate about underreported storytelling.
Seagbeh corresponds for Radio Deutsche Welle (Africa) as Liberia's correspondent. She previously reported for the Anadolu Agency, Turkey's news agency, from 2014 to March 2018 as Liberia's correspondent/freelancer. She has also reported for National Geographic, the BBC, Forum for African Investigative Reporters, the Earth Journalism Network, New Narratives, and FrontPage Africa.
Seagbeh is an advocate for girls and women. As a result of her extensive reporting on human rights, mainly women's and girls' rights, she founded what is now known as Just A Girl Initiatives. It is a nonprofit that empowers and provides opportunities for girls and women to help them to live productively and educate them about their rights and how to make informed decisions to advance their lives.
She was a fellow of former President Barack Obama's flagship program for young African leaders, the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program, and she's also an international associate of Wagner College, based in New York.
Seagbeh was also a National Geographic 2018 storyteller grantee and a 2019 WeltFilme fellow trained in documentary production and storytelling.
