Emely Sanchez

Emely Sanchez is a third-year student at the University of Miami School of Law, where she continues to develop her passion for public health law and policy. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she holds undergraduate degrees in political science and criminal justice from Florida International University. She obtained her Masters in Public Health at the University of Miami, specializing her studies in health policy and research. Recognizing the importance of health equity and using her experience with educational skill-building, she hopes The 1619 Project will impact legal education and health advocacy. Currently, she is president of Miami Law’s Health Law Association and is the student liaison for the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section.
