Elvia Malagón, a 2023 Richard C. Longworth Media Fellow, reports on social justice, immigration, and income inequality for the Chicago Sun-Times. She previously worked for the Chicago Tribune, The Times of Northwest Indiana, and The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida. A native of East Chicago, Indiana, she is a graduate of Indiana University’s journalism school.
