Deana Mrkaja
GRANTEE
Deana Mrkaja investigates economic and environmental crimes, human rights violations, democracy, and racism. Her work spans documentaries, radio features, podcasts, and multimedia reports, supported by institutions such as the EJF and Investigative Journalism for Europe.
Her accolades include the Ernst Schneider Prize (2018) and a German Reporter Award nomination (2017, Multimedia category).
As a futurist, she has contributed to studies for ETH Zurich, led workshops for the UN’s "Share he Meal" program, and lectures on “The Democracy of the Future.” Since 2023, she has been a board member of "D2030 – Rethinking Germany e.V."
