Cintia Garai is a scientist, mainly focusing on great apes in Africa, and a wildlife filmmaker. After working in different tropical regions, she wanted additional scientific background in order to combine three elements: filmmaking – research – conservation. She did her field research in DR Congo and gained a Ph.D. degree in Primatology at the Kyoto University, Japan in 2015. She works as a conservationist and continues filming and exploring the possibilities of using films in different ways to promote nature conservation.
