Álvaro Sepúlveda is an ecologist who graduated with a specialization and master's degree in territorial studies from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. He is a founding member of Sociedad Colombiana de Etnobiología, and the Latin American Network for the Defense of Biocultural Heritage.
