Ben Cathey

Ben Cathey is a meteorologist and climate and environmental journalist who specializes in broadcast TV news.
Cathey was awarded a Ted Scripps Fellowship at the University of Colorado, focusing on environmental journalism and wildfire risk. Prior to arriving in Boulder, he won several Emmys and Edward R. Murrow Awards.
In 2023, the American Meteorological Society named Cathey the top science reporting meteorologist in the U.S. He carries the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Program and American Meteorological Society seals.
