Megan Fromm
PROGRAM MANAGER, UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS
Megan Fromm is an experienced journalism educator and advocate specializing in media literacy, media law, and civic discourse. With a background spanning high school career and technical education to university-level journalism instruction, she is an ardent First Amendment freedom fighter and champion of student storytelling. Previously, she was the education manager at the National Association for Media Literacy Education and served on the board of directors for the Journalism Education Association, championing press freedom and inquiry-based learning. Megan is especially interested in how to support young adults by empowering their agency and curiosity to use media for civic good. She has explored those ideas in numerous publications, including a co-authored volume, Transformative Media Pedagogies, written with former colleagues at the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change, where she was the curriculum lead.
