Andrea Sánchez, from Venezuela, is a social communication student at the Universidad de los Andes.
She was one of the winners of the Pulitzer Center’s 2025 Latin American Letter-Writing Contest, “Our Voice at COP30.”
Her letter was inspired by the photo essay “A Future Without Glaciers?”. It recounts how Mérida, Venezuela—her hometown—became the first town in the Andes to lose all its glaciers.
