Kadia Goba, a 2018 Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow, will serve as a panelist at Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications’ second annual State of the Media Public Forum.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 4:00p.m. EDT in the Robert P. Scripps Auditorium.
Hosted in partnership with the Pulitzer Center, the International Center for Journalists, and WTKR-TV News3 (the local CBS affiliate), the event will create space for public dialogue on critical news events and their impact on the American news media and the public.
Goba is a reporter at NOTUS, covering the intersection of Congress and the White House. She is known for her coverage of Congress and national politics.
She most recently reported for The Washington Post, and also worked at Semafor and BuzzFeed News, where she helped shape coverage in Washington by exploring the political dynamics at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
In addition to Goba, the panel will feature:
- Battinto Batts, dean, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arizona State University
- Simegnish (Lily) Y. Mengesha, international multimedia broadcaster, Voice of America
- Jessica Larché, anchor/investigative reporter, WTKR News3
- Brenda Andrews, publisher, New Journal & Guide
Panelists will share insights on the state of American media: where it stands now, where it is heading, and what needs to be done to prepare and survive in a rapidly changing media and political environment. They will also offer professional advice to aspiring journalists and encourage them to master their skills for global competition.
