Adaptation au Changement Climatique

How labor adapts to climate change and green jobs creation will be at the center of a conference-debate on February 27, 2026, hosted by the National Institute for Professional Training (INPP) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Organized by the NGO 100 Jeunes pour le Développement du Congo and the INPP, with the support of the Pulitzer Center, this initiative aims to open a space for dialogue on the challenges and opportunities brought on by the ecological transition in the DRC.

At a time when the impacts of climate change are increasingly affecting economies and work conditions, the need to anticipate and adapt professional skills is becoming essential. This conference will bring together young professionals, experts, entrepreneurs, and actors in the private sector to discuss new dynamics in the job market, green jobs, and innovative solutions that can reconcile economic growth and environmental protection.

Beyond theoretical discussions, the event aims to highlight concrete experiences and promising initiatives, while raising participants' awareness of the role that each individual can play in building a more sustainable economy. The debates will also draw on journalistic projects supported by the Pulitzer Center, showing how information and journalism can help raise awareness and citizen engagement on climate issues.

This conference-debate is intended to be a strategic meeting place for Congolese youth and for all actors in the labor market who want to understand the changes underway and actively participate in the transition to a green and inclusive economy. By promoting encounters between institutions, professionals, and young talent, the initiative aims to encourage concrete actions and sustainable partnerships for the future of work in the DRC.
