José Bautista

José Bautista is an investigative journalist based in Madrid. He leads the investigative journalism team at Fundación porCausa, a nonprofit organization specializing on journalism and research on migration. Bautista is also a regular contributor for The New York Times and Der Spiegel. He also worked for or keeps publishing his investigations in other media outlets and organizations, including El Salto, Público, Agencia EFE, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, El País, El Confidencial, La Marea, Lighthouse Reports, OCCRP, Folha de São Paulo, eldiario.es, and CEPAL, among others. He holds a journalism degree from University of Málaga, and a double master's degree at Sorbonne Paris and the ESCP Business School.
