Martin Zinggl

Martin Zinggl is an award-winning reporter and photographer. At the age of 24, the ethnologist conducted research on a remote island in the South Pacific, where he discovered his passion for writing. With Doctors Without Borders, he visited various crisis areas, which he reported on.
Zinggl's reports have appeared in GEO, Spiegel Online, and Al Jazeera, among others. His books include Why Not Mariazell? As an Ethnologist in Tuvalu; Reading Tour Nepal: In the Land of Silent Heroes; and Instruction Manual for Lisbon.
Zinggl has also won several awards, including the Memento Media Prize (2023), the Austrian Magazine Award (2023), and a Media Award from the German Sepsis Society (2020).
