Vania André and Neenma Ebeledike

Pulitzer Center grantees Vania André and Neenma Ebeledike will visit Spelman College in Atlanta on November 18-19, 2025, for its International Education Week.

The journalists will speak to students about their careers and work. On November 18, there will be a special screening of Ebeledike’s documentary Allensworth Rising: A Fight for Water, followed by a conversation with both journalists.

International Education Week is hosted by the college’s Gordon-Zeto Center for Global Education. The weeklong celebration is filled with events designed to highlight the power of global connection and international education.

A first-generation Haitian-American, André has a background in marketing, public relations, and journalism. She is publisher and editor-in-chief of The Haitian Times, one of the oldest publications in the Haitian community and the leading media outlet covering the Haitian diaspora in the U.S.

Her 2020 Pulitzer Center-supported project, Dashed Dreams: Haiti Since the 2010 Quake, examines the aftermath of one of the most horrific tragedies in the nation's history.

Ebeledike is a Nigerian video and photojournalist passionate about amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. She focuses on storytelling that highlights social justice issues, environmental challenges, and cultural resilience. Her Pulitzer Center-supported project, Allensworth Rising: A Fight for Water, follows community leader Sherry Hunter’s fight for clean water in the historic Black community in California.
