A panel discussion and tuberculosis (TB) tools exhibit in recognition of World Tuberculosis Day. <br>
TB is the second leading infectious disease killer of adults worldwide and 1.7 million individuals died from the disease in 2009. The panel will address the burden of TB in the U.S. and around the globe, the U.S. role in implementing the Global Plan to Stop TB, as well as successes and challenges in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. <br>

A Tuberculosis Tools Exhibit will follow the panel discussion and will include the GeneXpert diagnostic test, equipment used in smear microscopy, information about promising TB drug regimens, and technology used for vaccine clinical research. Experts will be on hand to answer questions.<br>
