The Coalition of Women Leaders for the Environment and Development (CFLEDD), with the support of the Pulitzer Center, is organizing a multi-stakeholder roundtable on the topic “Women's Leadership in Forest and Climate Governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo” on March 25, 2025, in Kinshasa.

The aim is to recognize women in this sector by supporting a framework for exchange and discussion to propose solutions for the inclusion of women in forest and climate governance.

Through this roundtable, the CFLEDD intends to showcase local women’s efforts in the fight against climate change, by mobilizing stakeholders and proposing strategies to position women as key leaders in forest and climate management.

This roundtable is based on the stories of women featured in articles supported by the Pulitzer Center, namely "Nigeria Deforestation: Boki Indigenous Women Denounce Illegal Logging in the Cross River Reserve" by Francis Annagu and "Meet the People Safeguarding the Sacred Forests and Lagoons of West Africa" by Ricci Shryock, both Fellows of the Center's Rainforest Journalism Fund.
