Pulitzer Center's Ocean Reporting Network at UN Ocean Conference

We’re excited to share that the Pulitzer Center Ocean Reporting Network (ORN) will be participating in the UN Ocean Conference 2025, taking place this year in Nice, France, June 9-13. 

As a global initiative that supports journalists to investigate and report on the critical ocean issues, the ORN is excited to participate in the conference that shapes international ocean governance and policy. Our reporters and staff will be in Nice throughout the week, participating in official and side events, and engaging in conversations around ocean health, environmental justice, and accountability.

We invite academics, researchers, NGOs, journalists, and other ocean allies to reach out to us. Whether you’re interested in sharing research, co-developing story ideas, discussing data, or exploring training and media partnerships—we want to hear from you.

We are especially keen to engage with individuals and organizations working on topics like:

• Deep-sea mining
• Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing
• Coastal community resilience
• Marine biodiversity and climate change
