Update: this event has been postponed due to concerns related to COVID-19. We anticipate rescheduling this event for Fall 2020.

Join the Pulitzer Center and Hunter College for a conversation with PBS NewsHour special correspondent Nick Schifrin and Hunter College Distinguished Lecturer Sissel McCarthy on Monday, March 30, 2020, at New York City's Roosevelt House as they focus on the Pulitzer Center-supported project, "China: Power and Prosperity."

The project, a multi-part series that aired on NewsHour, examines the social, economic and political forces behind China's rise in prosperity, influence, and military strength. Schifrin, who has reported from more than 25 countries since 2007, worked on the NewsHour series with journalists Katrina Yu, Dan Sagalyn and Eric O'Connor.

Schifrin's Roosevelt House event is made possible through the Pulitzer Center-Hunter College Campus Consortium partnership. Hunter is one of more than 30 colleges and universities across the United States working with the Pulitzer Center to expand awareness about critical global issues to diverse audiences. The Pulitzer Center works primarily with Hunter's Film and Media Studies Journalism Program.

Kem Sawyer, the Pulitzer Center's contributing editor who works most closely with our Campus Consortium reporting fellows, also will be on hand for Schifrin's visit that includes conversations with Hunter College students and faculty earlier in the day.
