Pulitzer Center photojournalist grantee Louie Palu explores the photographic element of reporting on human rights issues during his March 16-18 visit to Loyola University Chicago. On campus he will speak to students in photojournalism, ethics, international studies and human rights classes.

His remarks and photography include exploration of his reporting supported by the Pulitzer Center, "Drawing the Line: The U.S.-Mexico Border."

Palu is an award-winning documentary photographer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, festivals and exhibitions internationally. He has been awarded many accolades including a National Magazine Award, Hearst Photography Biennial, Photojournalist of the Year, Hasselblad Master Award, Alexia Foundation Documentary Photography Grant, Aftermath Grant and is a Bernard L. Schwartz Fellow with the New America Foundation. His work examines a range of issues from the drug war in Mexico and immigration issues to conflict zones including Afghanistan.

Loyola University Chicago is one of the Pulitzer Center's Campus Consortium partners in a network of more than 20 universities and colleges.
