Journalist and Pulitzer Center grantee Lisa Armstrong will visit Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on September 27 to deliver a lecture to advanced journalism students.
Armstrong currently reports on incarceration. Her Pulitzer Center-supported project, Trouble in Texas: Neglect, Abuse at State Juvenile Detention Facilities, followed Keith, an at-risk juvenile inmate in Texas. Keith was failed by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD), anemic oversight, and representatives at all levels of state government.
Armstrong is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Her work has appeared in The Intercept, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Mother Jones, USA TODAY, among others.
