Pulitzer Center grantee Cara Anna joins Campus Consortium partner Elon University for a two-day visit Monday, November 14, and Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Anna is the East Africa correspondent with The Associated Press. Her team's Pulitzer Center-supported coverage of Ethiopia's Tigray conflict was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and Ethiopia's government barred her from the country. The team also won the AP's top journalism award in 2021. She has reported from Ukraine, Afghanistan, China, Sudan, Nigeria, Mozambique, and several other African countries. Anna’s most recent reporting, “Starving in Somalia,” explores the Horn of Africa drought and a new wave of climate migrants as thousands of people in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya are dying of starvation and illnesses.
