Please join us on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Elon University for a community-wide lecture with Pulitzer Center-supported photojournalist Allison Shelley.

Shelley is an independent documentary photographer and multimedia journalist. Her most recent Pulitzer Center-supported project, "Canaan: Haiti's Promised Land," investigates the settlement of Canaan located just north of the country's capital, Port-au-Prince, that was established to provide relief to those displaced by the 2010 earthquake. The government, however, never compensated the original landowner, and without official recognition, residents of Canaan are largely left to build the city on their own.

In addition to the talk during her three-day visit, Shelley leads classroom conversations covering her reporting and holds discussions focusing on multimedia journalism, broadcast news writing, and reporting for the public good.

Elon University is a partner of the Pulitzer Center's Campus Consortium network.
