Storytelling, in all its forms—from digital campaigns to investigative journalism—has the power to inform policy and drive behavioural change, advancing the targets of U.N. Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water). As we get closer to the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), the Pulitzer Center will be hosting a webinar with Communications Inc. and the Earth Journalism Network.

This webinar will explore how in-depth storytelling and investigative reporting can amplify marginalized voices, uncover environmental wrongdoing, and increase transparency and accountability. We will discuss cross-border collaborations, data-driven storytelling, and the media’s impact on public awareness and ocean governance. Attendees will gain insights into what makes a good ocean story, how to collaborate effectively with the media, and how to better engage journalists on key campaigns and issues.

  • David Akana, Mongabay
