De Bellaigue's recent reporting projects supported by the Pulitzer Center include the impact of a failed coup in Turkey and efforts at countering Islamic radicalism in French prisons.
He is a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books, Harper's, The Guardian and many other publications.
