The challenges of narrating and protecting the Amazon are vast and complex: from intricate criminal networks threatening a point of no return in the Amazon to the devastating impacts of mining, oil operations, deforestation, and hydroelectric plants on the territories of the Indigenous nationalities and mestizo populations of Ecuador.

This event will bring you up close and personal with the protagonists, Indigenous voices, and reports driving new narratives to unveil the pressing issues faced by the tropical rainforests, all while supporting and strengthening independent journalism.

During this event, we will explore inspiring case studies and announce the launch of the Amazon Rainforest Letters Contest, where participants will put their persuasive writing and civic action to the test, drawing inspiration from the stories and journalists of the Rainforest Journalism Fund.

Come and be a part of "Amazonian Narratives: Solutions, Reports, and Protagonists," where we will shed light on the vital importance of the Amazon rainforest and discover the power of storytelling and journalism in raising the level of awareness and advocacy on global tropical rainforest issues.
