Please join the Pulitzer Center and DC Public Schools for the 10th annual Everyday DC photography exhibition at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.
The exhibition will be on display at the Youth Art Walk between terminals 1 and 2 from Wednesday, May 6, 2026, through May 2027.
Everyday DC presents a visual narrative of everyday life in Washington, D.C., through the eyes of more than 150 D.C. public middle school students from all four quadrants of the city. The exhibition is the culmination of a unit designed by the Pulitzer Center in collaboration with DC Public Schools (DCPS) and facilitated by nearly a dozen DCPS visual arts teachers. Images from nine middle schools are represented in the exhibit.
Everyday DC was inspired by the Everyday Africa project, founded by Pulitzer Center grantees Peter DiCampo and Austin Merrill to redirect focus toward a more accurate understanding of what the majority of Africans experience on a day-to-day basis: normal life. Like Everyday Africa, Everyday DC challenges students to consider how the nation's capital is portrayed in the media, and how they can compose images that more accurately visualize their everyday experiences.
Everyday DC is funded in part by DC Public Schools. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority donated the exhibition space, supported exhibition design and installation, and hosted an opening reception for participating students and educators on May 6.
The gallery is open at all times that the airport is open. Admission is free.
