The earthquake in Nepal was a tragic natural disaster that claimed the lives of 8,000 people. As a result, nearly $4 billion dollars in relief assistance was pledged. However, that money has not made its way into Nepal due to strings attached requiring a cohesive plan for dispersing the funds, a plan that the government has yet to come up with even a year later. Some of the hardest hit regions are also the most difficult to reach, situated in remote, mountainous regions. These Nepalese survivors desperately need resources, and yet government instransigence and logistical challenges are making this extremely difficult.
