Warm Up: Students review the term portrait and examine images from the Everyday Africa Instagram feed to evaluate ways that portraits communicate stories

Introducing the Lesson:  Students brainstorm ways to conduct strong interviews, and practice conducting interviews that investigate underreported stories of everyday life in their communities. They then examine the video "Shooting with Yagazie Emezie" from The Everyday Projects to evaluate ways to pair interviews with portraits

Extension Activity: Students compose portraits of their classmates that communicate the feelings and stories they learned about in their interviews.
