In collaboration with the Pulitzer Center, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) photojournalism exhibition A Fragile Coexistence – Humans and Elephants in Eastern Thailand is being held until September 3, 2023, at BACC, SEA-Junction Building.

In Thailand, due to poaching, logging, and habitat challenges, the population count of wild elephants has reduced from 100,000 to 3,000 over a century. Community efforts with forest officials to safeguard the elephant population led to human-wildlife conflict resulting in casualties on both sides. The question remains: Is there a solution to all of this?

Engage in a discussion on this issue with Pulitzer Center Rainforest Journalism Fund (RJF) grantee and photojournalist Luke Duggleby, RJF grantee and Der Spiegel journalist Maria Stöhr, and moderator Anchalee Kongrut, a member of the Southeast Asia Rainforest Journalism Fund advisory committee.
