Jon Sawyer discusses Washington journalism's 'digital future.'
Jon Sawyer, the Pulitzer Center's executive director, joined a panel of top Washington Correspondents to discuss "The Digital Future of Washington Journalism" at 9:30 a.m. June 19 at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington DC.
The discussion was hosted by the Annenberg Washington Series in partnership with the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Additional panelists included Chicago Sun Times Washington bureau chief Lynn Sweet, Doyle McManus, Los Angeles Times Washington bureau chief, Jim Brady, editor, washingtonpost.com, and Brooks Jackson, director of Annenberg Political Fact Check.
The discussion was led by David Westphal, Annenberg's executive in residence and McClatchy Washington editor.
Sawyer spoke on his own experience in leading a non-profit media organization, as well as how "digital storytelling" fits into the Pulitzer Center's initiatives.
