"Caste in America,"  an examination led by Phillip Martin of casteism in the United States and Canada for WGBH, was awarded a 2020 Gabriel Award by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada. The radio series, part of the project "Caste Discrimination in the USA: A Public Radio and Online," received the first-place award in the "Human Dignity – Radio – General Excellence" category. The team behind the radio series, videos, and articles in the complete project includes Tinku Ray and Kavita Pillay.

The Gabriel Awards recognize "works that support themes of dignity, compassion, community and justice." Information about the award and the complete list of winners are available at the Catholic Press Association website.
