With lines from “This ‘Super Banana’ Was Designed To Save Lives. Will It Matter That It’s Orange?” by Agostino Petroni, a Pulitzer Center reporting project

Yellow-orange quarter moon,
fried, boiled, peeled, with vitamin A.
Hoping thousands of kids can eat the banana soon.

Be gone dying!
Be gone blindness!
“You can't say no to science.”

William Taylor is an 8-year-old budding entrepreneur and author from Tennessee who is homeschooled. "Super Banana" is his second ever publication, alongside a children's book he co-authored with his older sister, "Queen Nyah and Will the Mighty Knight Save Santa." William loves food and helping others. So, he chose the topic for his poem believing that God can help people get the food they need. He also wanted to get the prize money. He likes to play games, baseball, basketball, and with his sister Nyah. He not only likes to eat cake and mac and cheese, but also loves cooking so much that he started William's Strawberry Cakes to sell his creations.
