Most people living in Cape Coast, Ghana, go barefoot everyday for reasons ranging from financial struggles to personal beliefs and career choices. They often contract diseases such as malaria, cellulitis and guinea worm through their bare feet, or they may suffer from joint pain. But, while local doctors advise everyone to wear shoes to improve health outcomes, for some Ghanaians there is no choice.
