Estonia's history of various occupations has created a country on constant alert. Estonia is currently home to almost 300 thousand Russians who arrived at different times—most during the Soviet era. With recent successful attempts carried out by the Russians to control regions heavily populated with ethnic Russians, the Estonians are under a constant threat. In "Estonia: The Threat Next Door," Hani Zaitoun examines the different defense capabilities that the Estonians have developed to deter Russians from carrying out similar attempts in the young republic. He also looks at the status of the Russian minority in Estonia that Russia targets with constant misinformation campaigns using different Russian-speaking media outlets.
