Nadège Mazars

Nadège Mazars is a French photographer based in Colombia since 2007. She started photography after several years as a freelance graphic designer in France, and she received a doctorate in sociology at Paris III in 2013.
Her approach strives to give an intimate insight on her subjects about the effects of global issues linked to topics such migration, war and peace, the health care system, and natural resource extraction.
She has received two Magnum Foundation grants: in 2016, for her project The Other Colombia, and in 2019, for a collaborative grant in El Salvador.
Her works were exhibited at the Transphotographiques Festival (Lille, France; 2021), Centro de Memoria, Paz y Reconciliacion (Bogotá; 2021), Photoville (New York; 2020), Bibliothèque Nationale de France (Paris; 2020), Bridgeport Art Center (Chicago; 2019), Casa Hoffman gallery (Bogotá; 2019), Framer Framed (Amsterdam; 2019), Pil'Ours Festival (Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France; 2018), ZOOM Festival (Canada; 2016), Cine Festival of Douarnenez (2015); and CRL 10 (Paris; 2015).
Her clients include publications such as The Guardian, The Washington Post, Libération, Le Monde, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Save the Children, and more.
