Jean Chapiro Uziel
POST-GRAD REPORTING FELLOW
Jean Chapiro is a filmmaker and journalist from Mexico City. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with a major in Communication, Visual Studies, and Cinema Studies. Jean holds an M.S. in Documentary Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and is currently completing an MFA in Creative Producing at the Columbia University Film School. Through filmmaking, Jean seeks to bridge the gap between entertainment and journalism. Jean believes that storytelling is at the core of human existence and has the power to cut across political, cultural, and geographical borders.
