Jamilah Lewis

Jamilah Lewis is a senior at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, majoring in journalism and double-minoring in political science and classics. Lewis is the sports editor of the Daily Egyptian, SIU’s student-run newspaper. Previously, Lewis worked as a reporter and news editor for the Daily Egyptian.

She is from Homewood, Illinois, and graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 2020.

Lewis has received two awards from the Illinois College Press Association and hopes to pursue a career in news and sports journalism.
