Adelaide Lusambili

Adelaide Lusambili is an internationally recognized scientific researcher and educator with over 18 years of experience in the U.K. and several sub-Saharan African countries. She is an associate professor at Africa International University in Nairobi, Kenya.

In sub-Saharan Africa, Lusambili has researched maternal, reproductive, and neo-natal health and the strengthening of health systems. Since 2020, through Climate Maternal and Neonatal Health Africa (CHAMNHA project), Lusambili has led research on the east coast of Kenya to examine the impact of extreme heat on maternal and neonatal health. 

In the U.K., she worked with National Health Services (NHS) and Sheffield H. University on how aging and extreme cold winters fuel poverty. 

Lusambili received her doctorate from American University in Washington, D.C., in 2008.
