Stan Bindell

Stan Bindell worked as a journalist for more than 20 years before becoming a journalism teacher. He continues to report as a freelancer.

His journalism career included stints with The Star-Ledger in Newark, New Jersey, and as editor of the Navajo-Hopi Observer. 

He then started teaching at Hopi Junior Senior High School on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. His students won state awards every year from the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association and won a half-dozen national awards at the National High School Journalism Convention.
